At present, Toyota is carrying out trademark registration of "NX 250" in overseas market, which is likely to become one of the Lexus NX models.
It is reported that the new generation NX will be built on the ga-k platform of Toyota tnga architecture, and the new seventh generation Lexus es and the new fifth generation Toyota RAV4 and other models released in 2019 are also products of the platform.
The new generation NX appearance or the design of Lexus lf-nx concept car is more radical than the current model.
The new Lexus NX will be built on the same platform as the current Toyota RAV4 Rongfang, which has launched a 2.5-liter engine + motor dual engine combination power system. Considering that the two vehicles are built on the same platform, the engine may share the same 2.5L naturally aspirated engine code named a25b, but the power of this engine on Toyota RAV4 is weak, with the maximum power of 178 horsepower; if it is installed on the Lexus NX, the maximum power of the engine is expected to be adjusted to 203 horsepower.
At present, the current Lexus NX is equipped with three power versions: 2.0L, 2.0T engine and 2.5L hybrid system. The new generation of Lexus NX will add a new 2.5L naturally aspirated engine power version. If the performance is similar to the current 2.0T engine, it is likely that the new generation of NX series will give up the only 2.0T turbocharged engine (current NX 300 model) model in the whole vehicle series.
In addition, thanks to the advantages of ga-k platform, the body size of the new car will also be greatly changed, and its wheelbase is expected to increase by about 30mm compared with the current model to improve competitiveness.
This time, the new generation Lexus NX model will carry more new technologies after upgrading, and will compete with Audi Q3, BMW X1, Cadillac xt4 and other models after being put on the market.
